This Honda Rebel 1100 parts and maintenance guide covers every model year from 2021 to 2026, including the manual, DCT automatic, 1100T bagger and DCT SE versions. The same 1,083 cc parallel twin runs through every year, so most service parts carry over. Below are the specs and the parts that fit, so you order the right thing the first time.

Best engine oil for the Rebel 1100
Honda recommends its own Pro Honda GN4 10W-30. Any motorcycle oil in 10W-30 rated JASO MA works; never use car oil with friction modifiers, because the clutches run in the engine oil.
- Pro Honda HP4S 10W-30 (4 quarts): Honda’s own full-synthetic, sold as a four-pack. Add a fifth quart for an oil-and-filter change.
- Liqui Moly Street 4T 10W-30 (4 L): one jug covers the manual bike’s 4.0 L oil-and-filter change; DCT owners need a little more.
Rebel 1100 oil filter
The Rebel 1100 takes the Hiflofiltro HF204, the same size as Honda’s 15410-MFJ-D02. The HF204RC has a 17 mm nut on the end for easier removal.
DCT models: second filter
DCT bikes also have a clutch oil filter, the Hiflofiltro HF117 (Honda 15412-MGS-D21). Its cover bolts are torqued to 12 N·m (9 lbf·ft).
- Replaces OEM numbers: Honda 15412-MGS-D21
- HiFloFiltro Oil Filters provide the highest quality in filtering with a longer life than comparable OEM filters, test results prove 28% longer service life than O.E. brands
Drain bolt and filter torque: the Rebel has two drain bolts, each torqued to 30 N·m (22 lbf·ft). Tighten the oil filter to 26 N·m (19 lbf·ft) with a little oil on its seal. Use new sealing washers on both drain bolts.
Tools for the job
These are the tools you need to service a Rebel 1100 at home. Each link opens Amazon’s current options so you can compare prices and reviews.
- Torque wrench (3/8″ drive) covers the 26 N·m filter and 30 N·m drain bolts
- Oil filter wrench for a stuck HF204
- Oil drain pan holds the full 4 L or more
- Motorcycle lift jack for chain and wheel work on a heavy cruiser
- Chain cleaner and lube kit every 300–500 miles
- Digital tire pressure gauge for the 33 psi check
- Battery tender to keep the battery healthy over winter
Rebel 1100 spark plugs
The Rebel 1100 uses two NGK SILMAR8A9S iridium plugs, gapped at 0.8 mm. Honda’s replacement interval is 16,000 miles (25,600 km). Iridium plugs come pre-gapped, so check the gap but don’t bend the fine center electrode.
We could only find resellers listing this plug on Amazon.com at marked-up prices when we checked, so we are not linking one. Buy it from a motorcycle parts retailer or a Honda dealer.
Rebel 1100 air filter
The K&N HA-1121 is a washable replacement for Honda’s 17210-MLA-A00 paper element. It is listed for the Rebel 1100 and DCT from 2021 to 2025, and for the 1100T models. Clean and re-oil it instead of replacing it, and don’t over-oil it.
- ENGINEERED POWER: Increases performance by delivering high airflow that can help improve horsepower, acceleration, and engine response without typically requiring fuel-management modifications.
- PREMIUM ENGINE PROTECTION: Layers of premium cotton gauze treated with a specially designed tacking agent work to trap dirt & contaminants.
- WASHABLE & REUSABLE: K&N pre-oiled washable filters offer a longer service life, helping reduce replacement costs while supporting extended maintenance intervals.
Rebel 1100 battery
The Rebel 1100 takes a YTZ14S-size battery, mounted under the seat. The Yuasa YTZ14S below comes factory-activated, so it is ready to install out of the box.
- All of the features of standard Maintenance Free batteries PLUS increased power - Up to 30% more cranking amps thanks to a radial grid design and additional plates
- Spill-proof VRLA design means virtually no possibility of leaks
- Advanced lead-calcium technology pumps up starting power
Check the label on your current battery before ordering. A previous owner may have fitted a lithium battery, which needs a lithium-compatible charger.
Rebel 1100 brake pads
The Rebel 1100 has one front disc with a radial four-piston caliper and one rear disc, so you need one set of each. Front pads are EBC FA679 and rear pads are EBC FA496. The rear pads are listed for 2021–2024, including the 1100T. On a 2025 or later bike, compare your old pads’ shape before ordering.
The “HH” rating means sintered pads, which bite harder and last longer than organic pads. Bed new pads in with a few gentle stops before riding hard.
Rebel 1100 chain and sprockets
The Rebel 1100 runs a 525-pitch chain on a 16-tooth front and 42-tooth rear sprocket, with a 114-link chain at stock gearing. Replace the chain and both sprockets together, and set slack to 15–25 mm (about ⅝–1 in) measured midway between the sprockets.
Our chain kit guide is coming soon. Until then, look for a 525 O-ring or X-ring chain from a known brand (DID, RK, EK) with 16/42 sprockets listed for your exact year. Count the links on your old chain before you buy.
Rebel 1100 tire sizes and the best tires to buy
Every Rebel 1100 uses 130/70B18 front and 180/65B16 rear. The “B” means bias-belted construction; stick with bias-ply cruiser tires in these sizes and don’t mix bias and radial tires on the same bike.
| Position | Size | Load/speed rating (stock) |
|---|---|---|
| Front | 130/70B18 | 63H |
| Rear | 180/65B16 | 81H |
Buy the front and rear as a matched pair of the same model, with a load and speed rating at least as high as stock. Each pick below shows the front tire first, then the rear.
Best touring cruiser tire: Bridgestone Battlecruise H50
Bridgestone’s cruiser tire, built for mileage and stable handling on a heavy bike.
- Cruising in relaxed style on big displacement American cruisers.
- By reducing the transmissions of vibration of V-Twins, it provides a comfortable ride and helps to prevent fatigue, even when touring over long distances.
Matching rear: Bridgestone Battlecruise H50 rear, 180/65B16 – check price on Amazon
Budget pick: Shinko SR777 (black wall)
A low-cost heavy-duty cruiser tire in the right sizes, with load ratings above stock.
Rebel 1100 tire pressure
Set both tires to 225 kPa (33 psi), checked cold before riding, per the owner’s manual.
Before you order, check the size printed on your current tires; a previous owner may have fitted something different. Have tires fitted and balanced by a shop if you don’t have a tire changer.

Rebel 1100 sister bikes and related guides
The Rebel 1100’s 1,083 cc twin is derived from the engine in Honda’s Africa Twin, so some engine service parts cross over; check the part number before ordering. The smaller Rebel 500 and Rebel 300 look similar but use different engines, brakes and tires, so their parts don’t fit the 1100. A Rebel 500 guide is coming soon.
