Welcome to RK Bikes: The Right Part for Your Bike, Every Time

Welcome to RK Bikes. I’m Raj, the founder of this blog, and I started it to answer a question I kept running into with my own motorcycles: what is the right part for this bike, this year? Not a generic top-ten list. The actual part that fits.

Why I started RK Bikes

I ride two very different Kawasakis: a 2023 Z900RS Cafe and a 2008 Vulcan 900. One is a modern retro sport bike, the other a cruiser that’s been on the road for almost two decades. Every time I needed a spark plug, oil filter, battery, brake pads or a new set of tires, I ended up with the same frustrating routine: dig through the service manual, cross-check part numbers on three forums, then scroll through listings hoping the fitment notes were right.

RK Bikes is my attempt to do that work once, properly, and write it down so you don’t have to.

What this blog is about

The goal is simple: recommend the best products for your bike so you spend less time researching and more time riding. Every guide on this site is built around one motorcycle, one model year and one part, and each one will give you:

  • The OEM part number and the key specs, so you know exactly what you’re replacing
  • Compatible replacement options, from budget to premium, that actually fit
  • What to watch for: gap settings, torque specs, break-in notes and common mistakes
  • Where to buy, with links to products I’d be comfortable putting on my own bikes

How recommendations work here

I’ll always start with the manufacturer’s service manual, the OEM parts catalog and the part maker’s own fitment charts. If I’ve used a part on my Z900RS or Vulcan 900, I’ll say so. If I haven’t, I’ll tell you what the recommendation is based on.

RK Bikes is reader-supported. Some links are affiliate links, including Amazon links, and I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. That never decides what gets recommended. Fitment and quality come first. You can read the full affiliate disclosure any time.

What’s coming first

I’m starting with the bikes I know best. The first guides will cover the Kawasaki Z900RS and Vulcan 900, then expand across Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Harley-Davidson models as the library grows. Maintenance parts come first, because that’s what every rider needs: spark plugs, oil and filters, batteries, brake pads, chains and sprockets, and tires.

Have a bike you’d like covered?

If there’s a motorcycle or a part you’d like to see a guide for, let me know through the contact page. Requests go straight to the top of the list.

Thanks for stopping by, and ride safe.
